Just in time for National Poetry Month: Poetry & Music on April 10th!

Spring is here, and my favorite thing about spring is that April is National Poetry Month.

To mark the occasion, I’ll be at the Redwood Library and Athenaeum in Newport for a special hour of poetry and music on Sunday, April 10, at 3 p.m. I’ll be reading alongside Kate O’Kula, president of Ocean State Poets, as well as fellow poet Margie Flanders.

Poet David Dragone, editor of Crosswinds Poetry Journal,  will read from his new book. Also joining us will be musicians EmmaLee Holmes and Ealain McMullin of The Newport String Project.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public. For more details, visit here. If you’d like a convenient flyer to take with you, you can print out the image below.

Hope to see you there!

Surviving Through Poetry Event a success…read coverage here!

Writing Down Art

November 8’s Writing Down Cancer, Surviving Through Poetry event at the Redwood Library was a success, and the Newport Daily News‘ Joe Baker wrote all about it.

At the even, Carol Anderheggen presented work from her new book, Writing down Cancer, a journey of dreams and nightmares; her reading was accompanied by fellow poet David Dragone on violin. I also read a couple of my pieces.
